The record breaking heat conditions have thrown the life in Jammu city out of gear with people preferring to remain indoors for most of the day.

While the roads wore deserted look with a scanty public and private traffic, the business, even in the busiest markets, remain at low ebb like the past three days of severe heat conditions being experienced in Jammu and adjoining temperate districts of the region.

The Plains of Jammu are witnessing abnormal heat conditions for last four days with the mercury breaking all previous records.

Pertinently, the yesterday’s maximum temperature of 45.8 degree was highest in last seven years. However, the present blazing heat, as per the met officials, is also a good sign for onset of monsoon.

Meanwhile, unscheduled power curtailment by PDD is adding to the people’s miseries.
