KBA president hospitalized in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 27: The Kashmir Bar Association president Main Abdul Qayoom, lodged at Hiranagar Jail, has been shifted to Chopra Nursing home at Bakshi Nagar for treatment, after he complained of ill health, sources said.

Mian Abdul Qayoom, who has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) at Hiranagar jail, was not feeling well from past few days and was shifted to Chopra Nursing Home yesterday, sources said.

The KBA president had complained about his ill health few days back, Jail authorities decided to admit him at the Chopra nursing home at Bakshi Nagar (Jammu), they added

Sources said that he has been lodged in room number 204 in the nursing home under tight security arrangement.

“A double police guard with eight cops is guarding the room of the nursing home round the clock,” sources told Greater Kashmir.

Sources said that he has been diagnosed with gastrointestinal problem for which doctors are administering him treatment adding that his condition is improving. However, he was still under medical examination, till the filling of this report.

Notably, Qayoom was shifted to the nursing home yesterday from Hiranagar jail. He was detained under PSA after massive protests erupted in Kashmir valley on June 11.
